We caught up with Memphis Money to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

I have control of my whole career.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I have my own in-home studio in I'm my own engineer.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I like doing all of them!

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

I'd want them to say...

"Hey everybody! Check out this new hot song from this new artist I just ran across...song called "I'm Stepping Out" & the artist's name is Memphis Money!"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I plan my releases...like this year, I already finished my album for this year but they not going to hear all of songs at once.

I have everything mapped out, I have this list on the wall showing which song I'm going to release every month.

And I won't be releasing my album until November.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

Yes I will be doing releases but gigs I don't know!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

Yes! I'm planning on putting videos out around April and through the summer!

Go check out Memphis Money Records on YouTube or ReverbNation, SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter, or better yet just Google Memphis Money Records.

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

Yes! I have one group signed to Memphis Money Records and other artists I give pointers to.

What inspires your creative process?

That's a good question!... I don't know! I've been doing music for so long I guess!

All the local rappers that blew up in my town!

I remember when I was young and when radios came out with the mic on them or before then, we had to use two radios!

One for recording, and the other one to play the music on!

Who are your top three favorite artists of all time?

Three 6 Mafia
8Ball and MJG
And Curtis Mayfield.

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?

My wife because she helped me build my studio and don't give me problems about my music when I'm working no matter what time of night or day.

Where can we find you on social media?

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, ReverbNation.

Memphis rap is easy, just Google Memphis Money Records it will take you into my world!
