We caught up with NuLyra to talk about her music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

Freedom of expression, networking with other artists, and collaboration!

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I do have a computer, speakers, bass, guitar, synthesizer, mic, interface, which are the minimum, or even a bit more than that...

I'm in any case very grateful for the abundance.

I do enjoy engineering but I also love to be in a nice studio where other people take care of the engineering part!

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I really love both...

There's a time for everything!

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

Jazz, soul, Latin, electronic sounding, energic and healing fusion

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I do plan!

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I'm going to be performing in Mexico and Europe

And also I'm going to release a new song which is my first attempt into more electronic sounds

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!

I did record a video which is now in the editing process.

There are some videos out there already of the live sessions that I've been doing.

Are there any collaborations past or future that you are excited about, producers, artists, instrumentalists or songwriters?

Yes, definitely...

I'm collaborating with Duo Jade from Cuba, in Mexico with Christian Cano, Chema Gonzales, Alex Vaquero, in Switzerland with Carmabylon, Moussa Cissokho and Patrick Felber

What inspires your creative process?

Everything can inspire me...

From music to walking, from poems to photos...

Or just by myself and meditating

What are your top three favorite albums of all time? Why those albums?

Oumou Sangaré - Seya
Hiatus Kaiyote - Choose Your Weapon
D'javan - Luz

And many more! Because of the beauty, the aesthetics, the rhythms, the voices, the perfect songwriting.

The uniqueness...

Who makes up your existing creative team?i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout out?

My dear friend and manager, social media arranger, photographer, visual and graphic designer, Malena Portuondo

And Li who is also very good at multi-tasking...sound and video producer and designer

Also, big props to Lua Figueroa who did the Album cover of 'Mundos Hoy' plus other things!

Where can we find you on social media?

Instagram: @nulyramusic

And on all of them, and I'm also on Twitter and TikTok!
