We caught up with Malcolm Nash to talk about his music.

So Malcolm Nash...What is it that you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

What I enjoy the most is that I have full creative control over what I put out for everyone to hear...

It doesn’t put me in a box!

It allows me to try new things!

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I currently have a home studio.

All of my music has been recorded in the comfort of my home.

I currently use the scarlett solo interface and the mic that came with it.

One of my best friends is an engineer.

And I've met several others throughout my career.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

Honestly, I enjoy it all! It’s all a part of the process.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

"#NoWhereToGo"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I just go with the flow honestly!

I do a little bit of both! lol!

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I’m about to release a single I’ve been sitting on for a while because of sound quality etc...

When it comes to all of that...

I’m kind of a perfectionist!

After that release, I am planning to release my first official album!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

Definitely planning for some visuals!

I'm just really trying to be cautious because of the times we are living in.

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

I’m always excited to work with new people.

As far as the future goes, well, you never really know what could happen but I’m always optimistic.

What inspires your creative process?

The music from this generation.

I’m huge on lyrics & I just listen to what everyone is talking about & it’s all really the same thing!

I’m inspired to be different & talk about positive things in life, not the drugs, women, & materialistic things that music tries to persuade everyone to value.

What are your top three favorite albums of all time and why those albums?

I honestly don’t have a top 3 but I can name you one...

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
That album has so much work that was put into it & it just shows what real artistry is from a musical perspective in my opinion.

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?
