We caught up with Aj Angels to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

Freedom of expression. The message is mine. The journey is on display and it's authentic to me. My struggles, my wins, my mentality.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

Changes!

Because I’m used to being in professional studios, but home studios with the right setup are just as good.

And I’m learning that maybe the home studio is even better considering the extension of time that comes with it that I can apply to that song.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I love both.

And I love to perform live.

The transfer of energy and feeding off of it is amazing.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

"Unapologetically himself"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I plan my releases, but I could plan better! Because I plan, sure, but I plan in a rushed way, that can seem as if I just released it as soon as I could.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I’ve learned and adapted.

So expect growth.

And I’ll show that in my music.

I’ve worked with Riff Raff , my music's been seen by Drake.

Life!

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?

I do just about everything but love to work with who I can around me.
