We caught up with Cedrick Bogan to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.
Let's get to it...
I have the creative freedom to work any way I please.
Plus I enjoy releasing music and learning more knowledge, while understanding how the music functions as a whole.
I have an in-studio using U-Phoria UM2 Behringer.
It's got basic wall panels with a CAD GXL2200 Microphone.
I engineer my own music, mixing and mastering both self-taught.
And I go to Engel Studios if I need work done without my help.
I love to record my vocals every chance I get!
And as far as live performances go...I can't get enough of it!
I promote my brand every chance I get to!
Without any spamming online.
Through upfront genuine meet and greets.
However, due to Covid-19 blocking me from making any further moves...
I have decided to start doing things more digitally.
I would like people to describe my work as...
"A great masterpiece".
I have one unfinished album called 'Sacrifices LP' which I have been planning to release!
But due to personal situations...I keep prolonging the project!
I've been releasing weekly to keep my buzz going to stay relevant.
I plan to be satisfied releasing my LP within that time frame...
But prior to that, I will be releasing a single, every week, for the rest of my career.
I haven't really thought about videos at the meantime.
But I know it's hurting my career in a way not releasing enough of them!
I planned not to do any features this year!
But I really do have a habit of working with my favorite artists.
Those that I grew up listening to!
And working with local artists and producers that take their career seriously, in terms of my investment into their craft.
The beat has a lot of inspiration to as far as creative process.
The music tells me what to write about.
And how to say it in forms of delivery.
Number 1 will be...
Illmatic by Nas
Nas has a storytelling and narrative type of flow.
Some songs really hit you, like when he preaches about different life subjects and he talks about the government injustices in America
Number 2 - Makaveli By 2Pac
Because of the controversy behind his lyrics, before getting signed to Deathrow Records...You can hear the truth in his storytelling.
And his decisiveness to prove to people about his phenomenal work of art...he was gonna be a legend before the time of his death.
And 3. D*ggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Because I can relate to him in some way or another, living in a Gang-related lifestyle and to see the controversy behind his life behind the microphone...he is a true MC!
I am the CEO of my record label, called 'FaReal Life Music Group'.
We consist of popular Nigerian vocalists, and award-winning artists, AMI (an acronym for Azaaro Music Inc).
The Lagos-based music artist, Ace Avraam Acika S. also known as 'aCe maFia.
Ifeanyi Christian Okpara aka MXP is an African-born, multitalented, rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer entrepreneur who resides in Mushin, Lagos of Nigeria, West Africa.
Chase Christopher DeWitt, better known as Mystic101, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter.
Yung Kid Li isn't new to the music industry, he has been writing all his life...OneManArmy! He has been writing and recording music for over 2 decades!
Lil Hype Da Martian is an upcoming rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lusaka, Zambia.
Aton O’Cat is from the Netherlands, he is an artist who makes music by doing everything by himself and makes his music sound like a complete band.
Deybi Nuñez Basora, better known as 'El Android Bitter Lae-C', was born on July 11, 1997, in Santo Doming Norte (Villa Mella).
Gilamonsta comes from the ridged desert of Arizona, with his raspy voice and a sinister flow!
S Locs from Southeast Los Angeles, to the high desert and the deserts of Arizona, bringing southern Cali style flavor with his versatility flows
Del Moore, known to his fans simply as 'Tryacid', was born and raised in the East Bay area of California.
He spent most of his life in a small town called Oakley and his stage name is a spin-off of the word "Triassic" which was a time long ago.
He's been creating music since the year 1996 when he was only 12, and he recently picked up a bass guitar for the first time.
And I have a few artists that will be joining the label soon!
