We caught up with Chil Wil to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

I would have to say the freedom!

You may have to work harder...

But the reward is definitely worth it.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I have a little set up at my house.

I have the MacBook and the pro tools, but I normally go to a studio when I want to lay something down.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I actually enjoy the whole process, but performing may be at the top of the list.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

"Fierce", "Fire", "Visionary", and "Original"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I use to just finish a song and put it out...

But lately, I've been planning a little better!

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

Well, I have an EP coming out real soon!

Ever since that pandemic my schedule has changed...

But hopefully I'll be able to grace the stage soon!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

Well, I just released '100 Miles And Runnin''...

Out now, so please check that out.

And I'm working on something right now, and it should be ready when my project comes out!

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

None really at the moment...

I've just been focused on this up-and-coming project.

The producer for '100 Miles And Runnin'' is Scorpio Prodz and he's overseas...

The beat is fire!

What inspires your creative process?

For the most, I would say experiences...

Just getting out of the normal environment can do it!

What are your top three favorite albums of all time & why?

The Black Album Jay-Z
Mobb Deep - The Infamous,
And possibly a Pac album.

That Black Album was suppose to be that farewell album...

It was a complete project!

Mobb Deep played a big part in the start of my lyrical development.

Plus the stories were vivid for me...that man Prodigy went in!

The third album is a tough for me...

I would just say that the third pick doesn't stay the same!

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?

Right now I have my photo and video guy, Michael Stylez, who deserves that!

He keeps me looking right and makes me look good for the screen!

Oh yeah...Fasho, my barber! He keep me crisp too! lol...

I appreciate that man too!
