Combine the Victorious

Andrea

We caught up with Combine the Victorious to talk about their music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being independent musicians?

Being able to create whatever comes out of our heads at any time without restriction!

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

We have a full recording studio with a beautiful high ceiling...

Novation keyboards and Logic Pro at the ready with various microphones plugged in!

(Rhode Tube classic is the favourite for the album which we are just completing!)

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

All aspects have their own joy!

There’s a wonderful time capsule feeling about writing and recording...

And the performing is a whole other world!

Singing the words to the emotions you capture when writing but feeling a certain freedom to releasing them.

The promotion helps direct those emotions and feels exciting to find out if there’s a reaction to our efforts.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

Beautiful chill moody lounge electro pop companion!

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

We found that we had a full body of work so are planning the release starting with the single Thunder on 15/12/21.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

Releasing the album in spring 2022 , plans to play in Stockholm and England to support it and a future vinyl release slated for the summer by a LA distribution company.

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!

We have a video ready to go for Thunder and plan to release a video for each song on the album!

Are there any collaborations past or future that you are excited about, producers, artists, instrumentalists or songwriters?

We collaborated with an amazing violin player Johanna Sö for this song and hope to record with producer Paul Schroeder (Stone Roses) in Denmark in the summer.

What inspires your creative process?

Nature is a huge influence...

It’s amazing how a melody can pop up from hearing the leaves blow in the wind!

Mark has been creating music his whole life and sometimes it can just be a word Isabelle said that can spark his creative flow!

What are your top three favourite albums of all time? Why those albums?

Tears for Fears - Songs from the Big Chair for Isabelle...

Played it over and over as a kid and those songs still bring emotion today!

Mark is strongly influenced by The Beatles and enjoys the more electronic journey with Sigur Rós (Takk...)

And Röyksopp (Junior)

Who makes up your existing creative team?i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout out?

Robert Edmonds has been creating our Graphics over the years

And Carey Williams has given her time freely for hair and make -up!

Where can we find you on social media?

We are Combine the Victorious on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and Twitter @CombineTheV
