We caught up with Don Gramur to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

I enjoy the freedom of being able to release music whenever I want to!

And the freedom to explore all sorts of creativity with my projects.

I can be me 100%.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

My studio is a new home setup that I recently purchased.

It's soundproof with a pretty dope microphone setup.

It’s like my own personal space to vibe out and tell my story.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I like the recording and production phase of making music.

That is where an artist falls in love with their work.

There is nothing like knowing that you just created a masterpiece.

Performing is dope though!

And promoting music can be fun, if you know what you’re doing, and enjoy numbers as I do.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

I would want people to say that my project was unique and original.

"Something out of this world and amazing!"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I plan all of my music releases to some extent...

Some more than others!

But marketing plans are always in place.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I’m always working on something new...Stay tuned!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

You may see more Don Gramur in the spotlight in 2021! lol!

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

I’m excited to collaborate with different artists!

I’m working on making something happen with an artist or two this year...

We will see!

What inspires your creative process?

Simply being me inspires my creative process.

It helps me make my best music!

What are your top three favorite albums of all time and why those albums?

Albums? That’s kind of hard to say...

I like albums that tell stories and have above average lyrical content so I would have to say...

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter II
J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive
And Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city

This list can definitely change though! Haha!

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?

I am my own creative team!

And I also run my own music and media marketing business...I wanted to show artists that independent artists can be successful too!

Where can we find you on social media?

I'm mainly on Instagram...Follow me @thedongramur
