Enlightened Artists

Andrea

We caught up with Enlightened Artists to talk about their music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let’s get to it…

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

The ability to make music with whomever, whenever.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

At the moment we’re working on building our home studio, but we have a lot of friends that we make music with.

A couple have their own studios already, so they let us record there.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I love recording! But it’s a completely different story when it comes to performing…it’s like the best high you could imagine!

On stage, dancing around singing, seeing the crowd have a great time, while we show them what, and who we are! There’s nothing else like it!

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

“The best thing they’ve heard from us so far”

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

We try to plan them so we can get good promo out of it!

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

We’re going to be releasing a lot of singles here…like…a lot!

We haven’t released much, with covid, basically we’ve been stockpiling everything, but we have a lot in store for our fans!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

We have a few videos planned. A few solo videos and a lot of group videos!

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

So many! We have a tight nit crew that we rap with, including Mitchell James, Anville, Black Tha Map, D1 Drex, Devin Tremell, Eli.

Our producers Josh butcher and “DJ yetty”

What inspires your creative process?

Just hearing a beat gets the juices flowing.

If one of the guys jumps on and starts freestyling…then the whole crew getting some! lol!

What are your top three favorite albums of all time and why those albums?

Purple Rain” by Prince
No one does it like Prince. He was so talented it blows my mind. His music just makes me happy and feel good ever since I was a kid.

Lil Wayne’s first “Carter” album
I remember being in middle school bumping this cd ’til no end. He just gave me so much confidence and just take life by the horns.

And Alicia keys’ “diary” album.
There’s no one like Alicia! A beautiful mother earth goddess with a voice of an angel!

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?

Josh butcher. He’s the reason Enlightened Artists are a group.
He produces, makes beats, makes tutorials…
My man does it all! And he deserves everything he dreams of!
