We caught up with Hercules The Mac to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?
The freedom to challenge the way people think or what society deems normal.
Asking the hard questions and opening people's minds to new ideas.
If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?
I pay for studio time regularly!
And know that I am a performing artist and writer...
I am not skilled at making beats or mixing a track to complete a master.
Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?
Performing live and promotion!
How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?
“This music will make you look inside yourself, and want to cut out the ugly! I know I need Jesus”
Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?
I release projects...
Releasing a single has never been how I move!
My songs always fit together like chapters of a book.
What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?
Yes! Releases are planned for the spring.
A project titled “Until The End”
Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?
Videos are being planned.
I tried recording my first shoot and nothing went right!
It kind of discouraged me, and I stopped everything for about 3 months then got back in again.
Now I have new music on the way...
You just have to keep pushing!
Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?
None planned...
But I have made some contacts that will be very fruitful in the near future!
What inspires your creative process?
Christ and life.
What are your top three favorite albums of all time and why those albums?
The Cutthoat Committee
The Carter IV
And Acid Rap
They the dopest albums ever made!
Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?
