We caught up with Kyng4Play to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.
Let's get to it...
What I enjoy most about being an independent artist is that I can take my time making music, and I don’t have to rush to drop anything.
Honestly my studio is just my Mac, and a Yeti Mic.
I write music in my notepad on my phone, and I primarily use GarageBand for my recordings.
Honestly, I enjoy it all!
I like being able to showcase my skills, hearing what I came up with blended with the music...
And seeing people turn up to my music as I perform it for them.
I would want people to describe my latest project as a work of art!
When people hear my projects, I want them to feel what I felt when I wrote the project, whether it’s Hip-hop, POP, R&B, etc.
I plan most of my music releases but it depends on what kind of song and if I’m releasing it with a video.
Within the next 6 months, I wanna drop my album Temptation and have my other mixtapes dropped as well.
Also, I'm always up for a gig! So there will be more gigs in the future as well!
Yeah, I’m planning to drop some videos soon and besides a Pittsburgh performance, I just got covers for my projects.
Honestly, I did have a couple of collabs back in the day with an artist named Solo and my lil brother, Woubz.
Besides those two, I haven’t worked with any other artist in music...
Not saying I don’t want to collab with anyone, but I’m not chasing anyone for a collab, if I ask to do a song with you and I send you the beat, the rest is up to you!
As for some future collabs, I would love to collab with Hopsin, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, DMX, Jadakiss, Joyner Locus, Ciara, Meg The Stallion, Normani, RubiRose, Bobby Brown, Busta Rhymes, and etc.
I got a lot of artists I would love to create art with!
Honestly, anything can inspire my creative process!
But most times it’s my emotions, and how my spirit feels when I listen to the beat...like...every beat has its own heartbeat and sound to it if you just listen.
My top 3 favorite albums are...
2Pac - The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory
2pac - All Eyes on Me
And Biggie Smalls - Life After Death.
I choose these albums 'cause they show different flow styles.
These projects...when they were writing or just laying down tracks, they put their soul in their music and that’s what makes good music to me!
Honestly, I make up my own team!
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find people to work with yet...I'm still looking so I'll end up having some people to shout out eventually.
