We caught up with LiveSoundDevice to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

Firstly, being free to create and do your art the way you want to. Not being tied to one genre or sound.

Secondly, overcoming the new challenges that come with making music in the different stages.

Especially when you do not have a budget, and you need to learn to do it by yourself.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

We have a home studio, consisting of a laptop, loaded with Ableton Live, FL Studios, and Presonus.

Our Hardware, we use Presonus Audiobox interface with a condenser Mic, a pop filter, and a DIY acoustic arrester. We use Rocket 6 as monitors.

Our Instruments, we have Midi Keyboards, Midi Guitar, Yamaha keyboard, an Acoustic guitar, and my favorite Ableton Push.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

We actually love all aspects of music, producing, recording, and performing, but performing has an extra added bonus of the excitement and interaction with the audience.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

"Original", "Mind Blown!"

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

We use to just finish and release, but now we have started to schedule our releases and we are working according to our release schedule.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

We have a few releases planned for the next 6 months and two brand spanking new music videos in the line up too.

We hope that after covid constraints to start gigs and we will either kick off in South Africa or in Istanbul, Turkey.

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

Like I said we had our first music video in August 2020 you can have a look on our YouTube channel: Live Sound Device - Silver Linings, and we have two more coming out in the next 6 months.

The producers and directors are amazing people with so much creativity and ideas.

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about? Producers, artists, instrumentalists, or songwriters?

We would love to collaborate with Will I Am and David Guetta, we are looking forward, to the day that it comes around.

We believe it is in the near future.

What inspires your creative process?

With production, a lot of the time it is just as simple as starting out in a scale, and improvising.

This leads to song ideas and then you know how it goes from there...

Sometimes the music and melody with lyrics just come as if delivered straight to us by the universe.

With our lyrics they are a bit deeper, some come from past or current experiences, others come from our outlook on society and the world we live in.

We believe that music should be an expression and we love to express ourselves and have our expressions deliver a message to improve the world around us.

What are your top five favorite albums of all time? Why those albums?

Bad - Michael Jackson because every song is so good and special, he opened the door to so many new production techniques.

Nevermind - Nirvana, every song is great, and also...do you like to go ape Sh*t? We do!

Black Sunday - Cypress Hill because they took sampling to a whole new level every song is a balance of imbalance.

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout out?

Mel and Sean...our photographer and video director.
