We caught up with Pescar to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

You own your music and you can release it whenever you want.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I record in my closet using blankets and pillows to make it soundproof and there's a place for me to put my stuff on.

I also have a nightstand to sit on. It gets very hot because it's all pretty close together but there's enough room for me to move my body and legs around.

I have a laptop, it's hp and I got it in the summertime I think.

And i have a USB mic, Blue Yeti, I got it not too long ago, it was a Christmas gift.

I never pay for studio time, I made music on my device on garage band ios with some cheap apple headphones.

I literally just upgraded my music stuff last month, around Christmas, I was just waiting on the mic that I recently got so I could stop using my device and apple headphones to record.

I engineer my own stuff.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

Yeah, I enjoy recording music and it makes me feel good after I record some music.

I haven't performed live yet but going to be soon.

I promote my music from time to time but mainly I just really focus on my craft.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

A unique style of music and a unique sound that doesn't sound like anybody else in the music industry.

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

Yes, I do plan my music releases, I give myself 3 or 2 weeks to get everything done before the release date.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I got an album coming sometime this year, release date coming soon, still got a few things to fix up and check if everything is good to go.

Hopefully, in 6 months I get a little bigger than how things are right now.

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

Yeah, I'm planning out some music videos for some of my songs.

Are there any collaborations past of future that you are excited about, producers, artists, instrumentalists, or songwriters?

I got a big collaboration coming soon with a big artist can't say who but I'm pretty excited for it and I got an album and ep coming soon with my good friend Rosary.

Which artists inspire your creative process?

It's my thoughts that inspire me. I think of when people doubted me all the time and clowned on me back when I was really feeling bad and down and a lot of fake friends and heartbreaks.

It makes me grind on this music stuff even harder every day and I can't wait 'till the day I blow up so I can prove everyone wrong and stunt in their faces!

What are your top three favorite albums of all time and why those albums?

Life of a Dark Rose by Lil Skies, Perfect Timing by NAV, and 4EVERFRIDAY SZN TWO by Yung Pinch.

I started listening to rap music when I was 14 and when I finally moved out!

I was living in a house before that where I wasn't allowed to listen to that type of music.

I grew up listening to opera, pop music, jazz, and rock music with those people

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout out?

Rosary and Maxxie Lust.

Maxxie Lust was the first person to show me how to make beats on garage band ios when I was 14.

Then later on in life when I got my own device I started to record my own music with apple headphones when I was 15.

Rosary helps me out with my music covers.

Me and rosary are planning to start a clothing brand and build a studio.

Where can we find you on social media?

You can find me on Instagram @YungPescar, SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
