We caught up with Steez to talk about his music. At Indiy we champion musicians.

Let's get to it...

What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

The ability to make music in my own creative space and time.

And being able to choose what kind of music I want to make.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

My studio is small and simple...

I use a 64 bit pc and a USB Dixon microphone!

No interface! No recording booth!

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

"Who's this kid? ????✌????????"

What makes a good song in your opinion?

A good concept and relevancy.

How do you know that you want to work with an artist or group or a band?

I know because I always work alone but I came to realize that in order for me to succeed I need a team.

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I plan my own releases!

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I just finished recording my EP.

And I outsourced another engineer...

He's currently mixing and mastering the project!

Are there any collaborations past or future that you are excited about, producers, artists, instrumentalists or songwriters?

Truly speaking...I'm still at the bottom of the food chain!

So no, no one lined up yet, just my usual local artists.

What inspires your creative process?

Experience

What are your top three favorite albums of all time? Why those albums?

D*mn by Kendrick Lamar - The elements of the whole project was out of this world.

And also he inspires my music as a lyricist!

3001: A Laced Odyssey by Flatbush Zombies - Once again...lyrical content!

And the eccentric beats of Eric Arc Alliot.

Zoocci Coke Dope by Anxiety Mann! - I gotta say them beats are hot! Well produced!

One of my favorite producers in my country, SA.
