What do you enjoy most about being an independent musician?

The freedom to create music at my own pace & style.

And having the solitude to do so.

Giving my brain the chance to actually flow without extra confusion or somebody telling me how to create my craft.

If we were to peek over your shoulder, what does your studio look like? What gear do you typically use?

I don’t own a studio...

Every song I ever recorded was in somebody else’s studio, paying for the record and mix down.

All I know about is Pro Tools, soundproof and the mic.

Do you enjoy recording and production, or do you like performing live and promotion?

I enjoy both!

I don’t suffer from stage fright.

Yeah I dislike attention, but I can embrace it when the opportunity presents itself.

How would you want people to describe your latest project in a tweet?

“So much pain and emotion, with a glitzy side of street life! One can feel it, even if you've never experienced it “

Do you plan your music releases, or do you just finish a song and release it?

I've never really planned a release!

But I don’t release anything until I’m sure I’m satisfied with the quality.

What can we expect from Toró Joven within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

In 6 months, I should have my first project done.

And I'm halfway into the next tape, with videos done for my highly anticipated tracks.

Future gigs gotta come wit' the territory...

I don’t have any lined up just yet!

Are you planning any videos for your music? Are there any videos we need to know about!?

I'm planning a couple actually! I just need to go to the drawing board with a videographer for a treatment plan.

I got some sh*t in the stash!

Are there any collaborations, past or future, that you are excited about?

No collaborations at the moment...

But there's a few on my list who I would like to spar with!

It’s a sport, but I guess I can say I’m a fan of a few artists and what they do.

What inspires your creative process?

Peace and quiet...

But not too much! 'Cuz my mind will be stagnant for a minute!

And a lil alcohol to get my thoughts goin’ and put me in that bag!

It depends on my beat selection too.

And good vibes!

...If I want anybody around me!

What are your top three favorite albums of all time & why?

Cam - Come Home With Me.

And Ima have to get back to ya’ll on the other two 'cuz my brain is in a fog!

I'm thinking it’s more of a blend of old-school and new-school music.

Who makes up your existing creative team?
i.e. photographers, video directors, social media managers, paid media specialists, stylists, hair, and makeup…Name someone who you think deserves a special shout-out?
